Script from Zion's Bank Commercial - Speaking on Business - 3/18/08
FIT
MY CURVES
March
13, 2008
This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
After working for a large corporation for six years, Ta'melle Karlbom
learned her job was going to be outsourced so she would need to seek other
employment.
Tired of working in the corporate environment, Ta'melle thought of everything
she enjoyed doing and which she might be able to use to make her livelihood.
Sewing was a favorite hobby so she decided to focus her efforts on becoming
a professional seamstress. After sending a mass email to explain her new
business, one of Ta'melle's friends sent an alteration request, and Fit
My Curves officially launched in Sept. 2007.
Headquartered in Boise, Fit My Curves offers a variety of sewing services
such as hemming, alterations or custom clothing. Ta'melle says she can
also provide interior designs such as pillow covers, tablecloths or curtains.
As part of her business, she created a durable, fun apron and has found
it is a popular item with her customers.
Ta'melle is happy to sew custom clothing. One of her first challenges
was to make a bridesmaid dress for a woman who was four months pregnant
at the time the dress was started and would be eight months along by the
wedding. Ta'melle altered the pattern to turn it into a maternity dress.
She can also sew a wardrobe package with custom pants, shirts, dresses
and skirts. As an avid motorcycle rider, she eventually hopes to provide
alterations on leathers such as motorcycle leather pants, jackets, etc.
In addition to alterations and custom sewing, Ta'melle teaches sewing
lessons. She has several students already and would like to teach small
workshops of no more than five students in the near future. She has discovered
that interest in sewing has increased and many people can't find anyone
to teach the art.
Ta'melle says her service at Fit My Curves is unique because she personally
picks up and delivers items to clients' homes. She encourages anyone looking
for an article of clothing specifically tailored for them to contact her,
and she's happy to make it.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
Thanks!
